DIY Pixelated Fireplace

We live in an old apartment that used to have a fireplace, but they sealed it up. We decided that we would love to have a fake fireplace and we decided to attempt to make a pixelated fireplace:)

If you are nervous about creating the right shape and colors-

A.) Find a pic of a real fire, open in photoshop, zoom in and see how the colors are layered.
or
B.) Look up a pixelated fire on google and copy the basic format of that!
Go to home depot/ lowes and get a TON of paint swatches in your desired colors - they are free!

I used tacky glue, but the paint swatches tend to flap up so for every completed section I put a book on top to hold it down.

Ta da!
